Sister Wives fans sadly learned that Gabriel Brown decided to cut all ties with his father, Kody Brown, after a series of unfortunate events.
Sister Wives fans were left heartbroken during a recent episode when Gabe Brown opened up about his failing relationship with his father, Kody Brown. The 21-year-old has been very vocal about how he feels his father has failed as a parent. Instead of taking constructive criticism, Kody decided to lash out at his child.
Since 2020, Sister Wives stars Gabe and Kody have failed to see eye to eye on many issues. The main crux of their argument came down to Kody’s implementation of his rigid rules around COVID-19. While the patriarch tried his best to protect his family, he alienated most of them to keep his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and their children safe. Gabe broke all the rules leaving his father angry rather than concerned. Sadly, the two men never got their relationship back on track.
Sister Wives viewers could hardly stomach Gabe’s emotional breakdown when he spoke to cameras about how he no longer has a relationship with his father. One main reason Gabe, who Janelle is proud of, cut Kody off was that the father of 18 forgot to wish him a happy birthday. Instead, he called Gabe on his special day to quiz him on the symptoms and side effects of COVID-19. Gabe and his brother, Garrison Brown, always believed Robyn was behind the rules and even texted her to ask her to relax a bit. Kody, naturally, was offended and demanded his children apologize to her.
Kody Kicked Gabe Out Of His Home
It also didn’t help that Kody told Gabe to move out of the house at the height of Kody’s isolation. Cameras caught Kody telling Janelle, “They’re adults. Bye-bye.” Gabe has tried on more than one occasion to reach out to Kody, who recently split from Meri Brown. During the last season, Gabe confronted his father asking why he was “made to make a decision” between his father and his girlfriend. The pandemic clearly caused a growing distance between the father and son.
Sadly, the nail in the coffin for Gabe was when he didn’t get so much as a “happy birthday” from Kody. A Sister Wives season 17 episode showed Gabe crying on the confessional sofa. Janelle’s son revealed that when his father called, he chose not to remind him to see if Kody would remember; when the patriarch didn’t, Gabe revealed that was the last time he spoke with his father. Fans don’t blame Gabe, whose been treated poorly by Kody, for cutting his father out since their relationship has become more toxic than loving in recent years. However, many hope the two will one day be able to work it out and reconcile.
