‘GH’ Sofia Mattsson Honors Johnny Wactor After Tragic Murder
When the news broke that General Hospital star Johnny Wactor was gunned down and killed in a robbery attempt, it caused many fans to mourn the loss. Sofia Mattsson Remembers Johnny Wactor After Death
Johnny Wactor, 37, died on May 25 after the shooting, and his former co-star Sofia Mattsson has remembered the actor from their time together on General Hospital. Mattsson plays Sasa Corbin, and Wactor was her husband, Brando Corbin on the daytime soap.
“We shared so many great memories, so many tears and laughter on and off screen,” Mattsson said about her former co-star (via PEOPLE). “He just helps supporting everyone. He knows everyone’s name. He’s just friendly with everyone. He is super, super goofy. And just always made you laugh, and made you feel so comfortable and at home.”
Mattsson then talked about her favorite memories of Wactor. She said that there was a storyline where they lost a baby on General Hospital. Mattsson said they went through it together, which was “beautiful.” She said it was incredible to see him “becoming a father, to a reality for himself.”
Mattsson also took to Instagram to honor him, writing, “My heart is so utterly broken… Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard working and humble.”
Johnny Wactor Murder Still Unsolved
More information about the Johnny Wactor murder was released after the original news broke. Initially, the news just said that Johnny was outside late at night and saw three people near his car, trying to steal the catalytic converter. While he didn’t try to top them, they shot and killed him anyway.
Since then, his death certificate and police reports released more information. He wasn’t outside for no reason late at night. Johnny was actually working a side job to make money as a bartender. He was leaving his shift late at night after work when he happened upon the car thieves.
Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner determined that Wactor’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest. The police have ruled it as a homicide.
