James Patrick Stuart shared a simple yet accurate statement about the nature of admitting when one is wrong. The General Hospital star’s co-star and fans agreed, chiming in about how that mentality is sorely lacking these days.

Fans Picked Up What He Put Down

GH’s James Patrick Stuart has become a major fan favorite, playing the once-feared Valentin. Now that the character has been revealed (to the audience, at least) to be in charge of Pikeman, he may be headed back to his roots as a villain.

While Valentin has grown over the years as a character, so too has Stuart. In a June 24 post on X, formerly Twitter, he wrote, “You have to be okay with being wrong occasionally. So many great people understood the importance of humility and that one can’t learn anything with an exaggerated idea of being right all the time. You must at least make peace with the idea of being wrong.”

His co-star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) admitted, “I’m wrong a lot.”

His other fans were all in agreement, as another laid it out, replying, “Well, I think you’re pretty spot-on!! I don’t know why people have trouble when they’re wrong; you just apologize and say you know you screwed up…People shouldn’t rag on you once you’ve apologized. It’s like ‘what more do they want?’ You and Alexis are much alike!! #GH❤️”

Another follower perfectly explained, “When I’m wrong, I find it lessens my stress if I ‘throw myself under the bus’ as soon as possible. I hate to be wrong, but hate to misinform others even more!” Many of the fans were in perfect agreement that there are many people out there who cannot admit when they are wrong. One viewer smartly stated, “I agree, being  wrong, making mistakes And learning from them is how we grow. It’s called, ‘adulting.’  👍🏽😁.” (Learn where else Stuart appeared.)

Other Soap Stars Spoke About Mistakes

Recently, his former co-star Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan) admitted a gaff he made after mistakenly stating that he didn’t receive residuals when his films were rerun on TV. He took ownership of his mistake and explained in detail how he misspoke, and his friends and the actors’ union educated him. It turned out, based on his contract, that he did indeed get residuals, much of which was paid to him upfront. It took a big person to admit such a mistake.

If only all celebrities could be as forthright as these two!
