General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that Carly Spencer has been wreaking havoc in the land of Port Charles for well over 25 years now. While she is a staple character on the show, and a “heroine” now and again, she’s also created her fair share of drama over the years.

The role was originated by actress Sarah Brown in 1996, and after some recasts, Laura Wright stepped into the character in 2005. In fact, Wright has been the longest reigning “Carly” on the soap since. The actress recently talked with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) revealing what she admired most about her character.

General Hospital Spoilers – Carly Spencer Is “Unapologetic”

GH spoilers indicate that Carly is caught between a rock and a hard place right now, as she tries to reunite besties Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). She’s also trying to smooth over the mob boss’s brokenness.

SOD asked a number of soap stars what they admired about their characters during an “actor’s roundup” article, and Wright was included.

Here’s what she had to say: “Oh, I love how she’s unapologetically herself. She does not care what anyone thinks. Maybe a little bit about Jason, but that’s only after she’s already done something. She’s sorry after.”

Wright nailed it on Carly. She definitely doesn’t care what others think about her, and she’s certainly apologized numerous times to Jason over the years when doing something that he has to bail her out of.

GH Spoilers – Alley Mills Chimes In …

Other GH stars were also included in the SOD article, and Evan Hofer noted he respects Dex Heller’s “loyalty” and “honesty” to those he cares most about, while Adam J. Harrington admires how his character, John “Jagger” Cates moved on to become an FBI agent, considering how he grew up.

Alley Mills had an interesting take on Heather Webber, stating she admires people who look for the light in any negative situation and how her character always barrels “… towards the light.”
