ROCCO’S RETURN

General Hospital star Rocco returns to show after mystery absence but fans weep as dad Dante’s life hangs in balance

Rocco made his first appearance on the soap in two years

GENERAL Hospital star Rocco Falconeri has returned to the show following a lengthy, mystery absence.

Rocco, portrayed by Finn Carr, showed up on the soap’s March 7 episode having a heart-to-heart with grandmother Laura Spencer (Genie Francis).

This most recent appearance comes after Rocco’s father Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was shot two times in the chest.

Rocco’s latest return to General Hospital found him speaking to grandmother, Laura, about an incident with a video game.

Laura admitted she played “a lot” of Super Mario Bros. when she was younger and claimed she had done speedruns of the game.

“My dad is really good at video games, too. Maybe he can play with us when he gets better,” Rocco said ruefully, referring to his father’s grave injuries.

He didn’t want to take Laura up on her offer to talk.

“I just want you to know that it’s okay to be scared right now, because it’s a scary situation,” Laura assured Rocco in the brief scene.

This scene marked Rocco’s first appearance on the soap since 2022.

The character had previously been portrayed by multiple actors, most recently Finn, 16.

His last time on the show found him having lunch with dad Dante while meeting his father’s childhood friend.

There have been a few mentions of Rocco’s character over the past two years, but this was the first in-person appearance for the character.

Laura’s talk gave Rocco some comfort about dealing with his father’s incident.

Fans were delighted to see that Rocco had returned to the show.

They shared their excitement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Finally we are getting to see Rocco!” one wrote.

“So sad that he has to deal with his dad being shot at all! He lost his mom and now he is facing the possibility of losing his dad. I really hope Dante pulls through!”

“My heart breaks for Rocco,” another viewer added about the character’s difficult time.

“Oh hey, they remembered Rocco exists,” a fan wrote nonchalantly.

“Throwback to Finn Carr’s first (and only up until today) appearance as Rocco Falconeri!” another Rocco fan wrote.

“It must have been wild for him to get the call to come back to General Hospital after being off the show for nearly two years!”

“But in all seriousness, General Hospital has had such a baby obsession problem in recent years. The fact that Rocco was kept offscreen for nearly two years is…outrageous,” the fan attested.

“I really hope we see more of Rocco. Also, he is all grown up from the last time we saw him,” one hopeful General Hospital fan added.

DANTE’S FATE

Fans were previously left devastated after it was revealed that Dante had been shot.

The character had last been seen recovering in the ICU after the confrontation.

After the shots occurred, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) rushed to help Dante by putting a jacket underneath his gunshot wounds to help stop the bleeding.

He urged paramedics to get to the pier as soon as possible – but Jason left without a word.

After viewing the latest episode, fans were left on a cliffhanger as to whether Dante will survive.

This incident had viewers questioning Dante’s fate going forward.

Fans headed to X to share their thoughts on what had happened after seeing Dante fighting for his life.

“I’m sobbing uncontrollably over Dante in ICU,” wrote a fan online at the time.

“Damn, this episode of General Hospital is pretty good!! The dialogue is amazing. Don’t kill Dante!” added another.

“I would like Dante to stay,” noted a third while another said, “Will Dante Die? I seriously hope not.”

“If Dante dies, this [show] will suck,” expressed a fifth.

At the end of the show, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) gave an update on Dante’s health to Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) and Sam McCall (Lindsay Hartley).

She confirmed that the damage Dante had suffered had been repaired and that the father had been moved to the ICU.

He remained in critical condition, however.

MUCH-LOVED

Dominic joined the cast of General Hospital in 2009.

His on and off appearances have been well-received by fans over the years.
